Rabat - The Gateway to the Orient
Traveling time: 1 or 2 weeks - 01.10. to 08.10., 22.10. or 29.10.2018
The secrets of The Orient are in Rabat! The magic and myth of The Orient are already centuries old and will be revealed to you bit by bit each day. In the middle of the colorful hustle and bustle of the markets and bazaars, we will take you on an unforgettable tour of discovery. And thanks to the language course, you will not only be a part of the program from the outset, but an active participant!
Who would have thought that The Orient was so close by: the southern point of Gibraltar is even visible from Tangier and Rabat is not too far from the heart of Morocco!
As is the custom in Morocco, we’ll greet you with a lovingly brewed glass of mint tea. Afterwards we’ll take you through the metropolis and show you the most impressive sights and much more by day and night.
You’ll also spend a relaxing afternoon in a traditional Hammam, eat at the best restaurants in town or get a chance to practice your culinary skills at our cooking evening.
The highlight has to be the excursion to Marrakesh: where entrancing colors, unfamiliar aromas and exotic spices feel at home, we’ll set off from your 4 star hotel on a tour of the city – Inshallah.

On Sunday your plane will land in Casablanca or directly in Rabat. Check in and make yourself comfortable.
Your course starts early. Refresh your language skills, as they are already going to be needed in the evening: we welcome you cordially and officially with tea and couscous.
In order to make your orientation easy, it’s our pleasure to show you the city in the afternoon and recommend in an appealing and interactive way what to discover and try out.
Our experience shows that even those learning French are interested in the Arabic script in Morocco. On the calligraphy course we’ll give you a professional introduction and soon you’ll be drawing beautifully yourself.
After so much work you deserve some relaxation. On Thursday, it’s high time for a soothing sauna and massage, done traditionally in an old Turkish Hammam.
On Friday, we will end the week with an aperitif at the Dar Naji. The restaurant is known far beyond the city limits for its tajines, but also scores points with its delicious salads!
It's Saturday, finally we’re going to Marrakech! This city, unlike any other in the world, will win you over in seconds – promise!
Thanks to our guided tour of carpet makers, dyers, snake charmers and market criers, you’ll also discover parts of Marrakech’s mysterious world that other tourists rarely experience.
Back in Rabat, the language course continues as usual in the morning. You now know Rabat, but what do you know about the city at night? We’ll show you the city in the glow of the flashlight!
Neglected your stomach because of all the exciting activities? Time for a cooking course. You and the other participants get to prepare a Tajine according to an old family recipe. We invite you! You wield the spoon!
To ensure that we don’t miss out on the culture, an excursion to a museum is a must. Our guide will accompany you through the recently opened art museum and explain the exhibition.
After so much inspiration, time to become creative yourself. Today we’ll go to Oulja, where true masters explain the art of clay and ceramics directly at the workbench.
It’s our last evening together and by now you’ve gotten to know Rabat well, speak the language confidently and see everything through different eyes. We’ll leave it up to you to decide exactly how best to spend your final evening.
Time to pack your suitcase, on Saturday it’s time to go back home. If you want, we’ll be pleased to bring you to the airport on time.
