Demi-Pair in Sydney

For the Demi-Pair program you’ll need to be at least 20 years of age, and apply for either the working-holiday or student visa.

It is also necessary to sign up for this program at least 3 months in advance before departure. As a demi-pair you will live with a carefully selected guest family and have your own room. The whole catering and accommodation is included in the price.

In the mornings the language course takes place in the prestigious language school in Sydney. You can attend your English classes from Monday till Friday either from 8:30 - 13:00 or from 09:50 - 14:30 according to the needs of your guest family.

Living with an Australian homestay family means that you will also have the possibility to improve your English language skills in the afternoons at your new home. You won’t need to work for more than half a day and the demi-pair job only encloses simple housework, such as doing the laundry, cooking or vacuum cleaning. Taking care of the children will also belong to your tasks. Hence, you should have at least an intermediate language level and have experience in babysitting. At least two references are necessary for the application.

The minimum wage is 120,00AUD per week, some families may also pay more though. The working hours consist of about 20-25 hours per week. Please note, however, that the hours and chores may vary according to the family, and that you will also be asked to work during the weekends sometimes.
